2024-2025 CCPS Soccer Champions

The Soccer championship game saw Lake City and Swint square off in a contest that lived up to the hype. Lake City's sharp passing, solid defense, and clinical finishing proved too much. Coach Savonte Williams led Lake City to the championship with strong preparation, focus, and a team-first mentality that showed throughout the tournament.

Lake City Tigers had an undefeated 2024-2025 season 7-0.

A special salute to Lake City Elementary, our 2025 CCPS Elementary Soccer Champions!

Lake City Elementary School Wins PBIS Versus Battle - Elementary Song Division

Lake City Elementary School has proudly captured first place in the Elementary Song Division of the Clayton County Public Schools (CCPS) PBIS Versus Battle. Their performance of “Million Dollar Tigers” was the highlight of their submission, creatively showcasing the school’s commitment to positive behavior, school pride, and student success.

The PBIS Versus Battle encourages schools to demonstrate their positive behavior initiatives in unique and engaging ways. Lake City Elementary’s vibrant and energetic performance of “Million Dollar Tigers” not only energized the school community but also embodied the core PBIS values of respect, responsibility, and excellence. This outstanding accomplishment reflects the hard work, creativity, and team spirit of the entire Lake City Elementary family.

Congratulations to our Lake City Tigers for this remarkable achievement!

Dr. Gonzales is very proud of Ms. Cassandra Slemp and Mrs. Jennifer Fleming for working collaboratively on this grant opportunity

D9 Day
The Divine 9

As part of their Black History Month learning activities, Lake City Elementary School  celebrated the Divine Nine on February 21, 2025. For the second year, Dr. Malika Gonzales, principal at Lake City, invited numerous members of the D9 to volunteer their time to the students at Lake City Elementary.

The Divine Nine guests start the day with reading books pertaining to black history or written by African American authors. After reading the books to all students at Lake City Elementary they then engage students in a question and answer session about college life, education, and life after elementary school.

The final show of talent from The Divine Nine guests is their  demonstration of “strolling” and singing in the gym to display talent.

All the Lake City students enjoyed this experience and look forward to it yearly.
